How to prepare your site for a Clearview fence installation

What to have ready before the CSO team arrives, so the installation starts on time and runs smoothly.

A Clearview fence goes up quickly when the site is ready. When it is not, the team loses time clearing ground, waiting for power or waiting for materials, and the job takes longer than it should.

This guide explains what CSO needs from you before installation day. It applies to fix and supply jobs, where CSO supplies and installs the fence. If you are buying material only, the same points are still useful for your own installer.

What CSO needs from you: the checklist

1. Clear the fence line

The fence needs a straight, clear line from one end of the boundary to the other. Before installation day:

  • Cut back or remove trees and bushes that sit on or over the line
  • Remove rubble, building waste and anything stored along the boundary
  • Move vehicles, materials or equipment that would block the team

A clear line lets the team set the posts at the right spacing and keep the fence straight. That matters for security, because post spacing and alignment decide how well the finished fence resists climbing and cutting.

2. Remove the old fence or wall

If there is already a fence or wall where the new Clearview will go, it must be taken down before we start. The new fence cannot be set out properly around an old one.

If you plan to keep an existing wall and fit Clearview on top of it or between its pillars, tell us at the site visit. That is a different kind of installation and we will quote for it as such. See our Clearview fencing page for the options.

3. Arrange power for the whole job

The installation uses power tools, so the client provides power for the full duration of the work. If the site has no mains supply, or the supply is unreliable, arrange another source before the team arrives so that the work is not interrupted.

4. Have the cement and concrete materials on site

The fence posts are set in concrete. The client supplies the cement and concrete materials. Once your job is booked, we will tell you exactly what is needed, so you can have it on site before installation day.

5. Know your boundary

A fence is built to last for years, so it should go in the right place. Before installation, make sure you know exactly where your boundary is. If there is any doubt, especially on a new stand or a shared boundary, sort it out with your neighbour or the relevant authority first. Moving a fence after it is set in concrete is costly.

What happens at the site visit

The site visit is free. We measure the boundary, look at the ground, the access and any existing walls or fences, and agree what you need: the type of Clearview (garden fence, running fence or palisade), the height, and any gates. You then receive a written quotation. For sites outside Harare, transport is included in the quotation and charged by distance.

The site visit is also the best time to raise anything unusual: slopes, rocky ground, a boundary that is hard to reach, or an old wall you are not sure about.

How to book

Send us your location, what you need, the approximate length of the boundary and a few photos of the site. Use the quote form or WhatsApp us on 077 509 9777. Clearview fencing starts from $28 per metre, supplied and installed; see what affects the price.

Frequently asked questions

What does the client need to provide for a CSO fence installation?

The site must be ready for work: cleared of trees and rubble, with any old fence or wall already removed. The client also provides power for the whole job and supplies the cement and concrete materials.

Does CSO remove an old fence or wall?

The previous perimeter should be removed before the installation starts, so that our team can set out and install the new fence along a clear line. Tell us about it at the site visit so it can be planned.

Is the site visit free?

Yes. Site visits and quotations are free. We measure the boundary, look at the site and confirm the price in writing.
